Información:

The Nanoscience Cooperative Research Center CIC nanoGUNE, created with the mission of conducting world-class nanoscience research for the competitive growth of the Basque Country and recently recognized as a "María de Maeztu" Excellence Unit (2017-2021), is currently looking for a

POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCHER

to work on

CORRELATIVE TERS-nanoFTIR SPECTROSCOPY OF 2D MATERIALS

The aim of the project is to implement a Raman spectrometer into a s-SNOM/nano-FTIR setup that has been co-developed by the Nanooptics group, in order to establish a method allowing for simultaneous Raman and/or PL and Infrared spectroscopy with nanometer scale resolution. As a first step, the successful candidate will have to get the setup running and demonstrate its function with well-known test samples. Then, the developed correlative nanospectroscopy system will be applied to study 2D materials, such as graphene or dichalcogenides, and devices made from them.

The ideal candidate should have a PhD in Physics, materials sciences or related fields, and experience in scanning probe microscopy and optical spectroscopy methods. Ideally optical spectroscopy of 2D materials and either TERS or s-SNOM/nanoFTIR.

The project will be performed in the Nanooptics group of Prof. Rainer Hillenbrand in collaboration with the Nanodevices group and the Nanoimaging group.

We offer an international and competitive environment, state-of-the-art equipment, and the possibility of performing research at the highest level. The position is available immediately and for a length of two years. In the first instance, the contract will be financed by grant MDM-2016-0618 of the "María de Maeztu" 2016 call of the Spanish National Research Agency.

The candidates should apply by completing the form below, attaching:

a) A complete CV

b) A cover letter and at least two reference letters grouped in a single PDF file.

The deadline for applications is 15 April 2018.

NOTES

* Applications that do not follow the instructions indicated above will not be considered further.
