CIC NanoGUNE is a research center with the mision of performing world-class nanoscience research for the competitive growth of the Basque Country.

TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER MANAGER

Will focus on commercialization of nanoGUNE’s research activity. Key responsibilities are:

• Initiating and managing relations with relevant companies / industries.
• Identifying commercial strategies for transferring technologies and expertise to industry, including commercialization through spin-off companies.
• Working with nanoGUNE's scientists to commercialize their research activity in the area of nanoscience and nanotechnology.
• Informing nanoGUNE's scientists about industrial and commercial needs and opportunities in the area of nanoscience and nanotechnology.
• Managing the portfolio of patents and negotiating appropriate licensing contracts, in consultation with legal advisors.
• Managing and administering post-deal activity.

Requirements

• A degree in science and/or engineering; ideally a PhD in one of those disciplines. An MBA would be desirable.
• Relevant experience in industry and Technology-Transfer activities.
• The ambition to achieve results, along with a commitment to integrity and sound commercial judgment.
• Proven competence in:
  • Grasping scientific and technical concepts quickly and translating them into commercially viable proposals.
  • Working effectively with all stakeholders, showing tenacity and persistence.
  • Deploying excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
  • Successfully negotiating commercial and licensing contracts with industry.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English is compulsory. Knowledge of Basque and/or Spanish would be an asset.
