Description of the project
The Nanoscience Cooperative Research Center CIC nanoGUNE (www.nanogune.eu/careers) invites applications for a post-doctoral position in the field of Biotechnology. The prospective candidate will work on the design of enzymes for biotechnological applications using molecular evolution techniques. (S)he will learn all the scientific and technical aspects of specialty enzymes with special focus on enzymes used in genetics, such as CRISPR Cas9 and Polymerases. The candidate is expected to also connect to the private sector and promote technology transfer.
The initial appointment is a fixed-term post-doctoral position for one year, with the expectation to be extended in a leading role in our spin-off company Evolgene Genomics (www.evolgene.com).
Required degree, knowledge and competences
The candidate should have a PhD in biotechnology, molecular biology, or related areas with a strong background in enzymology, protein biochemistry or genetics, including CRISPR research. Furthermore, the candidate should have excellent communication skills and the willingness to face new challenges, solve problems, and achieve goals. Proficiency in spoken and written English is compulsory.
What we offer
Contract from 01/01/2020 to 31/12/2020. The starting date is set for January 2nd, 2020.
