POST-DOCTORAL RESEARCHER
to work on
IR nano-imaging techniques
The Nanooptics group at the CIC nanoGUNE (San Sebastian, Spain) is looking for a post-doctoral researcher to work on IR nano-imaging. Main objectives involve the development of methods for IR nano-imaging and their application to chemical nanoimaging of biological samples, and to field mapping of nanophotonic structures. The contract will be financed by grant MDM-2016-0618 of the "María de Maeztu" 2016 call of the Spanish National Research Agency.
The successful candidate will develop research involving:
- the development of methods to improve imaging speed and signal to noise ratio; preparation and imaging of cellular and tissue sections; application of machine learning to analyse data, and creation of models to understand and verify image contrast.
Requirements:
- Candidates should hold a Ph.D. in Physics, Engineering, Materials Sciences or related fields and a solid background in optics and nanophotonics.
- Experience in scattering type scanning near field microscopy (s-SNOM) and related spectroscopic methods is also required.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English is compulsory.
