A PhD scholarship in process engineering and functionalization of particles is available at the research center CIC nanoGUNE in San Sebastián (Spain) as of July 1, 2016 for a three-year period.
The overall goal of this PhD project is to engineer the process setup and to functionalize particles for a use in energy storage applications. This project is part of a collaborative project of the research centers CIC nanoGUNE and IK4-CIDETEC. Therefore, the process development as well as the characterization and optimization will be performed at CIC nanoGUNE, while integration of the materials into applications and performance testing will be performed at IK4- CIDETEC.
Candidates who hold a Master’s degree in a field relevant to the mentioned PhD-project (chemistry, physics, materials science or respective branches of engineering) may seek the fellowship. Preferred candidates have experience with nanoparticle synthesis and functionalization and/or fluidization of nanoparticles and thin film processing. Salary conditions will be in agreement with the institute regulations and will be communicated upon interviewing the most promising candidates.
One general rule applies to the appointment of researchers: The successful applicant will be enrolled as a PhD student at the PhD School at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU).
