The Nanoengineering group at the CIC nanoGUNE (San Sebastian, Spain) is looking for postdoctoral research associate to work on monitoring of physiological parameters during labour
Description of the project
In this project we develop methods and devices for physiological monitoring of newborns during labour. Particularly, we want to determine lactate and pH values in blood by Raman spectroscopy and real-time data processing using multivariate analysis or deep learning. The candidate will develop an optical fiber-coupled probe that needs to be adapted conformally to the skull of a baby either non-invasively or minimally invasively.
- Optomechanical design of the probe
- Fluidic design for minimally invasive probe
- Fabrication of the probes and coupling to Raman spectroscopy
- In vitro and in vivo tests of probes and integrated system
- Data analysis
Required degree: PhD in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or any related Engineering field
Required experience: Fiber optics, mechanical design, fluidics, Raman spectroscopy t
Knowledge and competences:Interdisciplinary working style, fluent in English, profound engineering knowledge (mechanical, optical, biomedical)
