The Nanooptics group at the CIC nanoGUNE (San Sebastian, Spain) is looking for a pre-doctoral researcher to work on plasmon and phonon-enhanced spectroscopy and optoelectronics devices based on graphene, boron nitride (BN) and other 2D materials.

The contract will be within the framework of the H2020-SGA-FET-GRAPHENE-2017- Graphene Core 2 Optoelectronics WP, the third stage of the EC-funded part of the Graphene Flagship. The objective is to develop graphene and related materials (GRMs) based components for photonic and optoelectronic applications, broadband photodetectors, THz technologies, and plasmonic sensors. For all of these applications, graphene and related materials (GRMs) offer distinct advantages compared to existing technologies. 

The successful candidate will develop research involving:

• experimental FTIR, s-SNOM and nano-FTIR characterization of 2D materials based photonic devices and sensors. 

Requirements:

• Candidates should hold a Degree and Master in Physics, Engineering, Materials Sciences or related fields.
• Solid background in optics and nanophotonics. Experimental and theoretical background in plasmonic and optoelectronic devices. 
• Proficiency in spoken and written English is compulsory. 
• Availability to start as soon as possible.
