The Nanoscience Cooperative Research Center nanoGUNE, located at the Ibaeta Campus of the UPV/EHU in Donostia – San Sebastián, is looking for candidates to apply for the IKASIKER 2016 grants.

This call is addressed to university students with residence in the Basque Country* in order to collaborate with research groups during the development of their studies in the 2016-2017 academic year or in the summer time (July - August 2017).

Eligible candidates must fulfill all the requirements necessary to apply for the IKASIKER grants of the Department of Education, Language Politics, and Culture of the Basque Government.

NanoGUNE offers to students from Physics, Chemistry, Engineering, Biology, and related degrees the opportunity to develop a research project within one of its research groups. The specific projects offered by nanoGUNE are the following:

• Nanoestructured magnetic metamaterials for light manipulation
• Nanooptics of 2D materials
• Spin Hall effect in novel materials
• Tuning the Kondo effect by molecular deposition
• Design and study of non-collinear magnets for spintronic applications
• Plasmonic biosensors - Nanoengineering
• Coexistence of domain walls and two-dimensional electron gas in thin film ferroelectrics
