NanoGUNE, located in San Sebastián, Basque Country (Spain), is an R&D center with the mission of conducting basic and applied world-class research in nanoscience and nanotechnology. The institute features an excellent infrastructure for advanced nano- scale research and engineering work, as well as related scientific studies.

In the Nanomagnetism group, a full-time Research Engineer position is available from May 2017. This position will be dedicated to the design, programming and testing of a novel mobile testing platform, and the coordination of a corresponding research collaboration with multiple partners. We are especially looking for a highly motivated applicant who has substantial hands-on experience in software development, including planning, design and implementation, especially in mobile app development.

For consideration, the candidate is expected to have a relevant engineering or science degree. An advanced degree, such as a Master in a relevant field, can be an advantage, but is not mandatory. Recent graduates are encourage to apply. The candidate will work in a highly interdisciplinary research project, has to have excellent organization skills and excel at being a team player. The ideal candidate will furthermore be skilled in optical and/or electrical measurement techniques, automated measurement control and data analysis systems. The working language at nanoGUNE is English.

In the first instance, the position is a 12-months term appointment and expected to begin in May 2017.
