The Nanoscience Cooperative Research Center CIC nanoGUNE (www.nanogune.eu) invites applications for a post-doctoral position in the field of molecular biology. The prospective candidate will work on the design of enzymes for industrial and biotechnological applications using molecular evolution techniques. (S)he will learn all the scientific and technical aspects of industrial enzymes with special focus on enzymes for biomass degradation and treatment. The candidate is expected to also connect to the private sector and promote the present research activities in terms of their implementation in the market.

The initial appointment is a fixed-term post-doctoral position for one year, with the expectation to be extended to a permanent position with a leading role in our spin-off company Evolution and Genomics Technologies (www.evolgene.com).

The candidate should have a PhD in chemistry, biotechnology, molecular biology, or related areas with a strong background in molecular biology and/or protein biochemistry. Furthermore, the candidate should have excellent communication skills and the willingness to face new challenges, solve problems, and achieve goals. Proficency in spoken and written English and Spanish is compulsory. Experience in business and market activities would be welcome.
