POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCHER

to work on

FUNCTIONALIZATION OF 2D MATERIALS

The aim of the project is to approach controlled spatial and chemical functionalization of 2D materials, for making the resulting composite functional for applications in optical/magneto-optical sensing, and further biomedical applications.

The successful candidate will have a PhD degree and a strong background in chemistry, related to surface functionalization, which will be proven with a solid record of first author publications. Further expertise either in electron microscopy, coating technologies, or lithographic patterning will be considered beneficial.

The research within this project will be done in co-supervision between the Electron-Microscopy laboratory of Prof. Andrey Chuvilin and the Nanomaterials group of Prof. Mato Knez.

The position is available immediately and for a total length of up to three years. The contract will be financed by grant MDM-2016-0618 of the "María de Maeztu" 2016 call of the Spanish National Research Agency.
